MOCK-UPS AT BLETCHLEY PARK

When the filming was complete, the production company shipped five of the ‘props’ to Bletchley Park on a permanent loan basis. Two deteriorated in the damp of Hut 11 and were stripped of useful parts before the carcasses were scrapped. Some of the part recovered were used to make very accurate but never the less still dummy drums but that now can be fitted to our Rebuild. A set of these were painted to match exactly our ‘real’ drums and are sometimes left on on our Rebuild for display purposes. We feel that we can risk these being out where visitors might touch them.

In January 2008 we worked with BP people to refurbish one of these Mock-Ups to a higher standard than at the end of the filming. This went on display at an exhibition in Central Milton Keynes and then back to Bletchley Park.
